I only drink green tea and alcohol. I make it in an ice tea maker, $18 at Walmart. My personal brand is Bigelow, the best I have ever tried, which is alot. My favorite flavor is Green Tea with Mango. Celestial Seasonings is good for a nice cup of tea as well.
Most people do not know much about tea. ALL tea is made from the same plant, green, black and white. The different kind depends on the entire process, for WHEN and HOW the leaves were picked to the oxidization. Chamomile and Jasmine are flowers and other stuff.
Green tea is beautiful, i have been drinking it for years and have tried many brands. Basically, the best is the loose leaf green teas. They have the richest flavour and probably the most benefits as they have not undergone as much processing as the bagged ones. i dont know where your located but if you have the time (and the money coz they can be on the expensive side) try and find a herbal tea shop that will sell you the leaves. There are many different varities of green tea too. Have a look on http://www.t2.com.au. Its an australian website but it goes through all the green tea varities and their flavours. If all else fails, just go to the local supermarket and read the box a bit of trial and error till you find the right one but to be sure your getting the real stuff loose leaf or organic varieties are the way to go.
green teas can be different types of plants. jasmine and other types of leaves.
i suggest that you try making your own, buy some fresh m mint leaves in a market then after washing it thoroughly, brew it in hot water, that is delicious, healthy, natural and refreshing.
there is no fake green tea, but don’t buy ready mades, the only fake teas are the lipton ones and the ready made ones, or if not, it has the least amount of tea in it.it’s just mostly sugar.
They are all nice but don’t stew leaves or bags for too long as they can get bitter. I prefer the Japanese tea to the Chinese type.
In my experience, there’s no such thing as "fake" green tea. Tea is simply leaves from the Camellia sinensis plant. If the leaves are allowed to oxidize, it becomes black tea… if they aren’t, it’s green tea. There are different quality ratings, based on the size and shape of the leaves, but it’s all tea.
Pre-bagged tea is almost always ‘fannings’, the lowest grade of tea. They brew fastest but usually have less astringency. The only real difference is the taste, which most people would never notice. Once you develop a taste for tea you might decide how long you like it brewed, which brands you prefer, etc. But it’s all the same thing.
I’ve never heard of a company that uses fake tea (not even Lipton). Sometimes they use powdered tea, but it all begins as a leaf.
The things to watch out for a herbal infusions that call themself ‘tea’ (such as the majority of Celestial Seasonings’ products). ‘Tea’ has become a generic term for any leaves brewed in hot water, but it doesn’t all come from the true Camellia sinensis ‘tea’ plant.
