Green Tea?

I have often heard that drinking green tea boosts your metabilism and helps you lose weight. First is this correct? and does it make a drastic difference in assisting weight loss? also any other common foods that are great help in losing weight? thanks a bunch guys nd gals<3

Green tea and losing weight… in order to lose weight you also need to excercise. Green tea more or less cleanses your system as it does speed up your metabolism, but make sure you are also eating healthy and excercising on a regular basis.. My boyfriend lost 25 lbs drinking green tea daily and eating right while excercising all within 3.5 months.
I agree with the above.EAT RIGHT and EXERCISE are your best bets.Green Tea may help you PHYSIOLOGICALLY .But I doubt any further is gained by it.
GREEN TEA IS VERY HEALTHY AND STUDIES SUGGEST IT MAY WARD OFF CANCER =) IT CAN HELP WITH WEIGHT LOSS BUT! U WOULD NEED TO DRINK 5CUPS EVERYDAY THOUGH!! U HAVE TO HAVE A HEALTHY DIET AND SOME EXCERSIZE ALSO! I DONT KNOW IF ITS THE GREEN TEA OR THE DRINKING 5 CUPS OF TEA A DAY PLUS WATER JUICE AND MILK U MAY DRINK(THAT WOULD KEEP YA STOMACHE PRETTY FULL HUH?) NOT TO MUCH ROOM LEFT 4 ALOT OF FOOD! A tea weight loss study conducted Dr Dulloo in the University of Geneva found that drinking a green tea extract beverage three times a day increases energy expenditure by 4%.
Is 4% too small to make any difference?
If you burn 2,000 calorie a day, this translates to 80 calories, roughly the same amount of calories in a small banana. It is no magic bullet.
But increasing metabolism is not the only way green tea helps lose weight. It also promotes fat burning and reduces absorption and storage of fat. The sum total of these actions has not yet been quantified, but is likely to be significant.
It is not just 4%, but something greater.

Green tea does boost your metabolism and helps you lose weight. And yes it works great in weight loss. I’ve done weight loss myself, and I lost 10 lbs in a month. I credit this nice loss (while building muscle) to my green tea intake.
The big problem caused by drinking lots of green tea is the teeth stains it causes. The stains will make your teeth look super yellow and will give you a smile thats worse than a coffee smile (you know how those look!) So I recommend you take pill forms. a good metabolism booster is ava trim, which has green tea (freakin awesome)

Green tea increases the metabolism of our bodies. This helps us to burn calories, which in turn could help in weight loss.
It is reasonable that replacing all beverages we consume that are full of sugar with ones not containing sugar, our weight could be reduced.
No amount of green tea will cause a noticeable weight loss if we do not also eat a diet of less fat. Exercise is also essential if one wants to loose fat and not muscle.
There are many other health benefits of drinking green tea as well. I won’t go into them here as that would be another question to answer.
