I have been reading how wonderful green tea is for your health, but I have a horrible time drinking it. I think it tastes horrible! I love Starbuck’s green Tazo Tea, but have purchased Tazo teabags and really have trouble drinking it. Any suggestions would really be appreciated!!

put a little bit of honey in it. that might help the taste for you.
Drink it over ice after you put in the honey!
It’s really an acquired taste. The starbucks drink you drank probably had lots of sugar in it, which is one way of making it taste better. But if I were you, I’d try brewing the tea at a cooler temp and brew two at a time, to give it a stronger flavor. Remember that green tea doesn’t require boiling water. Next time you are at Starbucks, you could watch and simply ask if they sell the teabags they use in that drink.
sugar lots and lots of sugar
I like to add sugar and or honey, lots of honey!
just like regular tea – add sugar and honey –
or sugar and lemon –
or orange and lemon and sugar -
or sugar and orange –
a little citris kills the distinct green tea flavor -
take some dried raspberries and tie them up in a coffee filter.
Let that steep in the hot water alongside your tea bag and trust me its great.
Honey. And all that starbucks does is put the teabag in hot water. It’s the exact same thing as tea at home.
add honey
add vodka.
One of things I have done often when drinking a green tea that didn’t have the greatest flavor was to add a lot of water to it in order to dilute it and make it more tolerable. It’s great to do when working out. Instead of drinking plain water, I’d often drink a cup of green tea with cold water added.
You can citrus to the tea. I have sometimes steeped green tea with orange or lemon peel.
Mint is another great flavoring for green tea especially if you can get your hands on some mint leaves.
It’s interesting to note, however, that not all green teas taste the same.
I have purchased several green teas from Mightyleaf.com. One was a very traditional Japanese green tea which had a very pungent familiar green tea taste which I didn’t enjoy.
Their Hojicha green tea, however, was completely different.
"Hojicha is made of Japanese bancha tea, a mixture of pan-fired and slow roasted green tea leaves that yield a rich, nutty brew."
The Hojicha almost reminded me of an Oolong type tea. It was delicious.
You could also try white tea. It is believed it has more antioxidants than green tea, and it has a much more delicate flavor.
