I just started drinking green tea about two times a day. How long will it take for the effects to "kick" in? Thank you!
By the way I drink it without sugar or anything in it.

Tea is not some kind of miracle beverage. It really isn’t something that will cause noticeable changes in you in a short amount of time. While it is healthy, it isn’t that healthy, and if you are waiting for it to burn fat for you or cure acne or something of the like, you will be disappointed. Tea (green in particular, although all tea comes from the same plant, so they all have the same health benefits) does contain healthful antioxidants and catechins, these are things that work over time, and you won’t notice the effects of them instantly. By the way, if you don’t have a healthy lifestyle to begin with, and you start drinking tea, it’s not like it will do much for you. It is not the only thing you should be relying on to be healthy.
I do encourage you to continue drinking tea though, as the whole subject of it is a very wide and versatile one. I encourage you to use loose leaf tea only, as it has superior quality and you are able to get the most amount of health benefits from it. There are also many, many more varieties of it than you could probably imagine, including the thousands of sub-varieties within the six general types: white, green, yellow, oolong, black, and pu-erh. (pu-erh is said to be extremely healthy as well and may help lower cholesterol). I encourage you to become familiar with tea and to try many different types, using many different methods of preparation. Here is a good website for you to start with for loose leaf tea: http://www.teavana.com/, although I wouldn’t recommend it for anything more than just getting familiar with tea. Here is a connoisseur’s website: http://www.teatrekker.com/main.htm, and here is a good pu-erh specialist website: http://www.puerhshop.com/.
Enjoy your journey into the tea world!
