How often should I drink green tea?

I like green tea and know it's very beneficial on your health, provides lots of nutrients. I heard though that it's very bad for your teeth.. I thought maybe if I only drink it once in a while, it wouldn't affect my teeth. So my question is: Is it worth drinking the tea to get the nutrients but risk having bad teeth? And again, if so how often should I drink it?

Thank you
No worries, I use the decaf

you can drink green tea as much as u like and you are correct in saying that it is good for you as it is and actually provides you with anti oxidents helping you prevent infections.

It’s not any worse for your teeth than many other drinks. The acids in it (just as are in sodas, black tea, coffee, and fruit juices) can slowly etch away the enamel of your teeth. It can also stain teeth over time (like black tea, coffee, sodas). And if you add sugar, that will encourage bacteria to grow and eventually decay your teeth (just like eating or drinking anything with sugar).

If it worries you, try drinking through a straw, and brush your teeth afterwards.

Funny 90% of the tea drank in Japan is green, black or fermented tea is not as popular, and they have few dental problems, true tea is slightly acidic, but it is low in caffeine, try drinking what suits you best, I buy fine quality loose Japanese Sencha green tea, but bags are fine, I drink several cups a day and even in the summer make flavoured green tea, I am diabetic so I use Splenda for sweetener in cold, none in hot, and no milk.

I worked in Japan in the 1980′s and never saw anyone with bad teeth, just the opposite, but oral hygiene is important no matter what you drink or eat.

I’ve never heard that about the teeth. It does have caffeine in it, so please be aware of that. I was drinking about 4 cups a day for a couple of days, and noticed a definite improvement in a medical problem that I was having.
