Is green tea a diuretic, and possibly dangerous for recovering bulimic?

I am trying to overcome bulimia and I like drinking green tea as it aids digestion and makes me feel "safer" about digesting a meal… but I’m concerned that it’s a diuretic and may be stripping me of important vitamins/minerals (like potassium, magnesium) that my body is lacking due to years of purging… Any professional advice?

I think that green tea is something you may want to stay away from if you are recovering from an eating disorder. I have anorexia and when i have been in impatient treatment (with people with anorexia and bulimia), we were not allowed green tea due to the caffeine content in it. We were encouraged to drink peppermint tea instead as that’s free of caffeine and is also supposed to help with digestion. You should try and avoid any caffeinated and fizzy drinks while you are recovering. Best of luck with your recovery.
