Is Instant green tea as good for you as brewed green tea?

I know green tea is very good for you, but I can't always have the time to brew the stuff, is the Lipton or 4 Seasons instant green tea just as good?

Green tea is a whole lot better for you than regular brewed tea. I think it also tastes better. I like four seasons mint green tea.

Not at all, they are the worst.

A study conducted by USDA measures the amount of green tea catechins found in different types of green tea: instant green tea, flavored green tea, decaffeinated green tea, teabag and loose-leaf green tea.

30% of green tea is catechins, which contains almost all its antioxidants.

According to USDA, an original brew is the healthiest:

100 millimetres of brewed green tea contains 127 milligrams of catechins.

Decaffeinated brewed green tea contains only 56 milligrams, less than half of the catechins found in an original brew.

Flavored brewed green tea has 43 milligrams.

Disappointingly, instant green tea has only 12 milligrams.

The article below also dicusses which type of green tea is the healthiest.

I tend to brew green tea, even in the office, it just take 2 minutes. Simply boil the water, let it cool a bit and pour it into your cup. Left to steep for less than 5 minutes.

    Love it to pieces.
