Things you add to green tea to make it not taste really disgusting?
I’ve been trying to drink green tea lately, but oh God, it’s gross. :X
So I’ve been suggested honey, a drop of lemon juice stuff. What do you recommend?
I also know that green tea comes in a lot of different flavors, so what do you suggest for that too? I just hate how it’s so flavorless.
I bought cranberry flavored this time, and …blech.
well its not that the flavor is too concentrated, in fact its quite the opposite. its GROSS and bland.

Sometimes, it is the brand of tea that you buy that makes all the difference. I’ve tried Lipton’s green tea and it tasted like grass to me (yuck!). Then I switched to Celestial Seasonings green tea with white tea (which is basically, baby green tea leaves) and it was much, much better, in my opinion! It has more of a lemon taste to it.
Instead of the lemon juice stuff they sell, you could try squeezing a fresh lemon slice. I think the fresh lemon would have a much better flavor than the bottled stuff you can get. I know they make green tea with mandarine orange in it too, but find a good brand. Or you could try squeezing orange wedge in yourself, and that might taste better. Good luck!
I would recommend honey or citrus, just like you said.
sugarrr thats what i put in mine and if it is still nasty add more water and suger. it may be too concentrated.
- hope i helped xxxx
I suggest water instead of green tea.
But if you really want some green tea that’s not really really disgusting (because I think it is, too), try Lipton Green Tea in the Citrus Flavor; and the diet is actually better.
It’s awesome.
You can try mixing teas. We sometimes buy Cinnamon Stick
tea by Bigelow or even some kind of fruit tea, Lipton makes
a Bavarian fruit like tea. We put both the green tea bag and this in the cup.
I’m not a fan of just Green Tea alone, either.
Green tea comes in so many different varieties. Some of them can be very bitter, others of them sweet and mild. Some of the tea you buy at the supermarket can be pretty bad. You may want to experiment with a few different brands or different kinds. Find someone you know who already drinks tea and has some on hand, and see if you can try several kinds before buying them!
Also, you may not be brewing the tea the right way. Green tea can often taste very bitter or sour, often to the point of being undrinkable, if you brew it with boiling water. Most green teas taste best with water that has been heated to about 160-180F. If you don’t have a way of measuring it, you can let water boil and then let it sit for about a minute before pouring it over the tea. Experiment and find what tastes best! Also make sure you don’t let it steep too long. Usually 3 minutes is a good guideline…but if it’s too bitter, try a shorter amount of time.
Good luck!
