I need to lose weight and people urge me to start drinking green tea instead of my daily coffee. I dont like the taste of it and i was wondering about the others. Do they do the same with metabolisim or which one is more beneficial to diet?
i already work out 2 times a day. PT and P90x at night. im gettting definition but not losing the fat.

All are from the same plant. White tea is the newest growth of green tea. Green tea is unprocessed tea leaves. Black tea are tea leaves that have been fermented. Oolong is partially fermented tea leaves.
I make kombucha tea & use green & white teas for the health benefits, but just not crazy about the taste. So I make tea with 1/3 green tea, 1/3 roobios & 1/3 black tea, but I make (and bottle) 10 gallons at a time so it’s easier to use all these teas.
Coffee creates hypoglycemia in some people which triggers cravings for sugars & starches.
Green tea (or any other kind) won’t help you lose weight if you don’t change your diet.
You can lose more body fat eating protein & fat (don’t eat protein alone) than not eating AT ALL. To lose weight fast, eat all you want, but nothing but meat, eggs, healthy oils, mayo, butter & half an avocado a day (for added potassium). Keep the calories high & the fat percentage high, at least 65% of calories. Green vegetables & some cheese will continue weight loss but at a slower pace.
The first 2 weeks eat several cups a day of (mostly) lettuce & celery, cucumbers, radishes, mushrooms, peppers & more variety of vegetables thereafter – add 5 grams per day additional every week (20 grams day first 2 weeks, 25grams 3rd week, 30grams 4th week etc) til you gain weight, then subtract 10grams. That will be your personal carb level (everyone is different & depends on how active you are.)
Start with meat, fats & salads for 2 weeks and then slowly add in more green veg, wk4 fresh cheeses, wk5 nuts & seeds, wk6 berries, wk7 legumes, wk8 other fruits, wk9 starchy veg, wk10 whole grains. You will learn how your body reacts to different foods.
The body won’t release fat stores if you lower calories below what it needs. It will slow metabolism to compensate & store every spare ounce as fat. If you continue lowering calories, it will continue lowering the set point, til it can survive off nothing & store fat on anything. The body will only release it’s fat stores if it knows there is plenty of nutritious food.
Eating carbs while trying to lose body fat is terribly inefficient. When in glycolysis (burning glucose as fuel) you have to lower your calories (which slows your metabolism) & exercise heavily to deplete your glycogen stores before burning body fat.
The core of Atkins program is converting the body from glycolysis (burning glucose as fuel) to ketosis (burning fat as fuel). Dietary fat levels need to be at >65% of total calories, if not, the body will still remain in glycolysis by converting 58% of excess protein into glucose (via gluconeogenesis).
It takes minimum of 3 days to convert a body to ketosis, (but only one bite to convert back to glycolysis). People feel sluggish the first week but most feel better than ever thereafter.
Simple carbohydrates (sugar, flour, bread, cereal, pasta, potatoes, rice) trigger the fat storage hormone insulin. The more protein the more the fat burning hormone glucagon is released.
High insulin levels promote inflammation, weight gain, hunger & unbalance other hormones. Controlling insulin levels will balance out other hormones & allow human growth hormone (HGH) to be produced naturally so lean muscle will be gained even without exercise.
Ground flax seed (2 Tbsp) 1/4 cup water, artificial sweetener, mix in a raw egg – let sit 10 min. to absorb liquid, put some cream cheese in the middle & nuke 2 min for daily fiber needs.
As long as you have <9grams carbs per hour, you will maintain insulin control & shouldn’t gain weight, no matter the calories because insulin, the fat storage hormone is not activated. Many people gain weight on high carb, do low carb to lose weight & then are shocked when they return to high carb & gain weight. Many people can return to moderate carb levels but very few can really eat all they want of sugar & maintain weight or health.
I am adamantly opposed to low calorie dieting because most people lose a good portion of lean tissue (including vital organs like the heart) along with fat stores. There is no nutrition in fat stores, only energy. Most people get impatient and lower their calories and increase their exercise to a point where they lose so much lean tissue that when they return to what was maintenance level eating they are now accumulating more fat stores because their caloric needs have dropped due to the loss of this tissue as well as their metabolism slowing down to work more efficiently on fewer calories & it becomes a vicious cycle of dieting and more loss (including vital organs like the heart). This stress to the vital organs cannot be healthy.
Tea is based on the plant and the leaf/root along with the preparing process.
As for the metabolism boost from green tea that is caused by the ECGC. You can buy ECGC extracts at the vitamins shop and get the same effect. If you don’t like the taste of green tea then do citrus flavors as they seem to take the "tea" taste out.
One thing I want to point out is try to drink diet green teas….. Some brands will throw in flavoring that adds extra calories in sugars and such. So look at the label cause sometimes your offeseting the effects of green tea if you are adding sugars and junk.

Dietary changes:
Small changes really add up. I cut cola out of my diet and it’s helped a lot.
If you don’t have time to cook healthy meals buy a slow cooker. Chop up a bunch of veggies and some meat, throw it all in with some water and you have a healthy meal…but in a slow cooker you can get the food cut up and in the cooker in the morning and have it ready for dinner.
Exercise:
I walk my son to and from school so I’m making activity a part of my life, while the walk alone won’t drastically change me overnight the concept or idea of working fitness into your daily routine and can really help. Walk instead of taking a car/bus not only does it save you money on gas/bus fair but it’s a great way to squeeze in that extra bit of exercise.
While you are studying take jumping jack breaks, not only does this incorporate exercise into your day but in increases the oxygen flow to your brain which keeps you more focused and helps you learn things easier.
When you are reading class material try doing bicep curls, before long it will be second nature and you’ll be able to focus on the reading while squeezing in that extra bit of exercise. (just use some light weight dumbbells that can be stored in your desk/out of the way). You could also use a resistance band if you prefer.
If you can wake up 20 minutes earlier try squeezing in the 30 Day Shred by Jillian Michaels. It is an interval training dvd and everyone I know has had results from using it, best of all each session is only 20 minutes long.
Healthy supplements can increase the vitamins and anti-oxidents in your body and help your metabolism run faster.
I hope these ideas help you, good luck =)
Hi.
The difference between black, green and white tea has to do with the processing method. Being black tea the most processed tea, and white the least.
They all help you lose weight by speeding up your metabolism.
However, the caffeine content is not the same and that’s something you have to take into consideration if you are planning to lead a healthy life.
If you are looking for the best type of tea for weight loss, than consider oolong tea. It is certainly the best.
Enjoy your tea.
